  6. I have tested it with FS 5.1 CDROM and a 486 66. It should run
  7. even if you don't have CDROM (but then without dynamic scenery ).

  16. Use this Airport - it's more like a Airstrip - for refuelling and 
  17. repairs or in emergency cases. 
  18. This scenery is for all who have to ferry Planes over the 
  19. atlantic or for emergency cases with the DC9.
  20. You know, the DC9 is not ETOPS rated.

  26. Due to problems with the default FS5.1 CD-ROM the location of the
  27. airport is transferred by a few seconds to the WEST.

  45. Approach and Landings only with visual conditions of ceiling 
  46. at least 4000' and visibility  8000 m.

  48. First you have to perform IFR approach. 
  49. Attention: Steep approach path of 5,6░ from Desision Point.
  50. At D4.0 to DME NQ final approach under visual conditions.
  51. Approach to Narsarsuaq is not controlled.

  53. About Narsarsuaq
  54. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
  55. Narsarsuaq means "wet bag" and is located in the south of Greenland.
  56. This former allied Base BW-1 was almost forgotten.
  57. But in the last years there is more interest in this airstrip.
  58. Big jets are now able to use it after Installation of a DME.
  59. So, it is used as emergency airstrip for ETOPS rated planes.
  60. It is a tricky approach. No ILS available because of surrounding hills.

  62. The interesting thing is, that the geometric direction of the
  63. runway is 44░ degree. 
  64. But you have to fly with heading 77░ to RWY08.
  65. That means the geographic direction of the Airstrip is 44░,
  66. add the variation of 33░WEST and you get the magnetic course 77░.

  72. This package consists of the following files:

  74. nar_doc.txt  > You are reading it !

  76. Copy all *.bgl-files to your SCENERY-directory of FS 5.1
  77.  
  78. Copy all *.nar files to your TEXTURE-directory
  79.

  81. Now run FS5, choose GREENLAND Narsarsuaq from the 
  82. Airport menu directory.
  83. Be sure to have bad weather conditions due to more realism.

  86. SCENERY COVERAGE
  87. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
  88. Don't look too far, this scenery covers only the airstrip 
  89. and surrounding hills.

  91. I had no picture material about Narsarsuaq, 
  92. so the visual scenery is fiction.
  93. The scenery is mainly based on a Jeppesen chart.
  94. So please excuse me for some mistakes in design.
